neglect, recap

i'm so sorry i've been neglecting you. i've been so busy these days but just know that i haven't forgotten about you. i hope we're still friends. i'll even give you an update right now while i have a moment. okay?

thanksgiving weekend was lovely, and took place at my parents' house. it was all about the goodness of being surrounded by family, and enjoying good food and drink. what more can a person ask for? my sister was there--her first time back on the east coast since moving to denver, and also since dad's valve replacement in may.

the holiday was extra special b/c we were all so grateful he came through with flying colors. to think that this time last year i felt so unsettled and terrified when i learned he would have to undergo the procedure. but i want you to know my dad is doing great and mostly back to normal--in fact, just a month later, he was back teaching summer courses (he's a professor), and he's teaching a full class schedule again.

i also spent the weekend basking in the happiness of my job offer. i never dreamt i'd get an offer the same day i interviewed! and i realized something: i should always be thankful for what i have. it's all about one's attitude. my life has been far from perfect, but i consider myself blessed because while things could be better, they could be worse.

and, thankfully, this year was a complete contrast to last thanksgiving.

okay. i hope everyone else had a decent thanksgiving too. i have tons of stuff to do but i'll be back at some point i don't know when...more as it happens...
