Unravel Me

the little raised tag, looking ahead to summer

the little raised tag, looking ahead to summer...

i've figured out the sticky fingers mystery! i was going through my wallet and by chance, came across a little raised tag--plastic with what looks like a UPC code--tucked way inside an interior crevice pocket in my wallet. it was a hidden anti-theft device they forgot to remove when i bought the wallet. or rather, when it was purchased (because i received it as a gift). i took it out and sure enough, i haven't set off any anti-theft alarms since.

that was really the most bizarre thing and i was starting to think maybe i was bionic or something. what made it all so strange was that it started happening suddenly--july 14th, 2002 to be exact (the day i spent in vancouver). but the wallet wasn't purchased in vancouver, so that was even more strange and mysterious. speaking of vancouver, the chances are slim but i'm still totally keeping my fingers crossed that i can manage to go back. i'd love to, even if only for a daytrip when i'm on the west coast.

i just looked at my calendar and it still seems far away right now but i guess it looks like it's all going to happen a little bit later than i originally thought but still sooner than i realize. time flies and dates always sort of creep up on me...total whirlwind. there's a lot of stuff that needs to be figured out and done before leaving here, though. all i can say at the moment is that i am totally excited about getting out there and then driving down to colorado. i hope it's fun but not quite as fast-paced and chaotic as the week i spent in california was last june.

i'm only sorry that i'll miss my friend leticia by a few weeks. she has a conference and a wedding to go to in sea town, so i was hoping to see her (and her husband jim) if we happened to be there at the same time. one thing (among many) i'd love to do either in seattle or denver is visit some wineries. but i haven't seriously looked into it yet, to see if there are any nearby that are worth visiting.

...speaking of wine, i could go for a glass of wine right now. or maybe sangria...
