experimental designs & peanuts

experimental designs & peanuts...

switching from Windows to OS-X, made me realize that my old design didn't look the same in all browsers, or even different versions of the same browser. so as much as i enjoyed my old layout, i figured it was time for a change (the old html is saved, so reverting is still an option). i'm experimenting w/ new templates, including imaged designs. but i'm not used to how many layouts have narrow entry frames compared to my old look. they make my entries look longer than they are and i'm not sure if that's good or bad. i'm still trying out various looks, including this one. the red is bright and festive, no?

speaking of festive, you know the holidays are coming when the charlie brown christmas special airs. i watched it the other night. don't laugh--i may be 30 but i still look forward to it every december. the soundtrack is awesome, too! now, i *could* play you linus & lucy on the piano, but why not stop here for charlie brown x-mas special tunes, and some images and sound clips? i think one reason i like george winston's music is its similarity to vince guraldi's keyboard influence, or vice versa. i just may put this cd on my wishlist. anyway, i think i'll always be a peanuts fan. recently , mary told me that fantagraphics has a hardback complete peanuts book. she of all people should know, as she's getting her M. A. in American Studies--her concentration is on how comics and graphic novels have portrayed american history and society over the years. which means her thesis will incorporate american popular comics.

whoa, the power just flickered! (bad weather). i'd better log off, turn the lights out before they go out on their own, and get to bed.
