klutzy & PMS'ed, but happy in the end...

maybe this is crazy, but i'm starting to wonder if there really are other women who become uncoordinated and clumsy in, say, the week or so before their period. according to this site, there must be. i've been unbelievably accident-prone over the past several days:

1) dripped coffee on white shirt while in meeting
2) spilled iced tea on white shirt during lunch (and right before another work meeting)
{NOTE TO SELF: stop wearing white shirts}
3) spilled crumbled feta cheese while trying to remove from fridge
4) dropped whole container of rice all over carpet (and had to pick it up by hand b/c my vacuum cleaner is gone).
i *think* that's it--at least i'm not tripping over my own feet.

i must conclude that PMS is the only logical explanation. especially when you consider what a foul mood i was in for the earlier part of today--and for no particular reason. well, other than the fact that the local "monsoon season" i wrote of a few days ago seems to be hindering my efforts to run AND swim. (the pool i go to is indoors, but not grounded, meaning their policy is to shut down and get everyone out b/c swimmers risk being fried if there's thunder/lightening coming through the pipes).

BUT... all's well that ends well. this weekend ended on a happy note. my mood lifted b/c a friend who lives in NYC and got married last month, called to let me know she got the wedding present i sent her. she loves to bake, so i got her a williams-sonoma bundt cake pan. i got her a williams-sonoma scone pan last year for her engagement shower. lucky girl! she got pretty much everything on her bridal registry including a kick-ass kitchen aid stand mixer. now, she and her husband face the task of making room in their newly remodeled kitchen for all of the gifts they received. i've never met jason (her husband), but from the photos she's sent me, they make really cute duo. so i can just picture them eating freshly baked scones together while reading the weekend NY Times or listening to ira glass.

oh god. ira glass is so dreamy. i find brains sexy and he's certainly got those. a good voice never hurts, in my book, and he's got that, too. and i must say i dig his intellectual-type, glasses-wearing good looks. okay, okay, i'll stop here.
