burned out thanks to domestic violence...

wow, it's been busy/intense at the office because last month's business travel took me out of the office a lot. so now i'm buried under an avalanche of projects. thankfully i'm not on the verge of burning out just yet...(heh--ask me in a few more months).

speaking of burnout, when i came back into town, i was greeted by a voicemail message from a job coach/case manager informing me that one of my clients was in crisis because her apartment had burned down and she lost everything. furthermore, her ex-partner is suspected of setting the fire. she has had a history of ongoing domestic violence and this same partner also stabbed her in the knee a while back. so her disability is a result of that incident and the ensuing torn ligaments.

i'm kinda frustrated by this new development. because she has been employed successfully for over 90 days, so i was getting ready to close out her case as a successful "Status 26" closure. but now it looks like she needs additional supports for a little while longer so she can stay employed. i do sincerely hope she can finally break free from the cycle of violence. it just occurred to me that fittingly, tonight was this city's take back the night march and rally.

what else to report? EH, probably a lot. but i'm too tired to think straight, much less type out my thoughts or report events here. but when things settle down, they'll come back to me and i'll update again.
