erin go bragh, race report ...

this is two days late, but, well...kiss me, i'm irish!

You're Ireland!

Mystical and rain-soaked, you remain mysterious to many people, and this makes you intriguing. You also like a good night at the pub, though many are just as worried that you will blow up the pub as you drink your beverage of choice. You're good with words, remarkably lucky, and know and enjoy at least fifteen ways of eating a potato. You really don't like snakes.

wow-no time to update this week! here's the latest from my world: saturday's race was fun--good weather, great crowd turnout. the race course itself was pleasant, too, as it took me through some pretty neighborhoods not far from where i work, but a part of town i usually don't find myself driving through. so it was nice. i got a little bit sad at the end, though, because someone important in my life who had wanted to be there to cheer me on wasn't able to, but promised next time.

the most meaningful thing to me: that i did this race and enjoyed it despite the enormous pain and fatigue i've had lately. in an odd way, i guess that made it even sweeter and more exhilerating when i crossed the finish line and someone hung that finisher's medal around my neck. it's one of the best feelings, and anyone who has ever done a race, big or small, knows what that's like.

what else? i was down at headquarters for training workshops two days this week. i'm out of town again a few days next week. well, more as it happens. have a lovely weekend!
