Unravel Me

janus: new directions

2007-01-18
boy, it's dusty in here! the door's unlocked, and do you hear my voice echo? well, let me wipe off some of the dust and cobwebs from this diary for an '07 return and my "janus" entry to close out '06 and welcome the new. pull up a chair, won't you?

when i last wrote, there was a lot to say but now it's hard to remember ... probably stuff about school, or how nice it was that CariDee beat out Melrose on ANTM. and i obliquely mentioned quasi-dating someone whom i'll now refer to as "Architect Boy". well...although school really does leave very little time for blogging, and d-land has become a ghost-town, i think i also got shy and clammed up, or something.

so. happy new year! were your holidays good? good. so were mine, even though my family ended up celebrating x-mas at our house on 12/27. my sister was stuck in denver during that huge blizzard and couldn't come home for the holidays until several days after her originally planned flight. somehow, out of all of that came an x-mas day stay at the ritz carlton (!) up in DC, and x-mas day dinner at this place called mark's duck house, which is just generally awesome, was packed on x-mas day, and has terrific dim-sum and other authentic chinese delights.

then i got sick on new year's eve, and spent much of the past couple weeks consuming lozenges like it's nobody's business. i've been cooking, baking, reading, and knitting like there's no tomorrow. dare i say, i've been perfecting the art of quiche making, and pie-making. i'll even venture to say i've mastered it.

now i'm back at school and another semester has begun. new things await. Architect Boy is back from his trip home to calif. i need to figure out how to skillfully walk the fine and sometimes nebulous line between friendship and more without tangling up the pretty tapestry of a friendship i value. as for d-land, part of me wants to keep up this page but lock it again. so i'll definitely try to come back more than 1-2x/month. i just may be back real soon.

now it's time to get back to swimming and yoga twice a week, re-acquaint myself with the elliptical machines at school, and inflate my brand new red fitness ball at home. (i shamefully admit i won the ball last year, but never inflated it since i was in the midst of packing & moving & didn't have space). now i don't make resolutions, but still, healthy is part of the equation for happiness in 2007. something tells me '07 will be good. rock on...
