loser...
i just recently found out one of my college friends is pregnant and due in january. i also heard that another person i went to school with (but didn't know all that well) is about to marry someone she's been with for only five months... yes, five *months*, not five years. well it sure seems like everyone's domestic lives are moving along, except for mine.
so my deep thoughts of the day are as follows:
1. i have come to the conclusion that marriage and parenthood are light years out of my existence.
2. instead, i will probably end up being a serial monogamist for the rest of my life.
3. i remember thinking when i was in my early 20's that if you got married and had several kids straight out of high school or college (at 18, or 22) you were a loser. it was almost taboo. (because it meant you weren't on track towards becoming a successful if not stereotypical "career woman").
now the opposite seems true. as i approach 30, it seems that if you're not getting married or having kids now, the tacit understanding is that you are kind of a loser.
glad to know i fall into that category...
