here online, little darlings...

where is everyone? it's quiet even for a saturday. well what am i doing in d-land on a saturday? taking a break from my movies (see below).

only two people on the my list have updated this afternoon and argh! not one, but both beat me to it and wrote about the very topics i planned to update on: hurricane isabel, and spam mail. how weird. so...different topic:

i think everyone has gone to fotolog and friendster. as much as i like fotolog, it overwhelms me b/c there are so many good fotologs and a handful i enjoy a lot. but i'm hesitant and torn over whether to list favorites there the way i've done here b/c i'm afraid it could turn into a time-waster. i love posting & looking, but don't want to get too hooked.

as for friendster, i don't know too much about it other than that itzie and amishboy have mentioned it in their blogs. i'd consider joining except for the fear that it'll compromise my privacy online. my name will turn up in random internet searches and i'll get more spam than i already do. also, as much as i liked (some of) the people i went to h.s. with, and loved those i went to undergrad with, i don't want to be bombarded w/ frequent blasts from the past. friendster probably makes you too accessible, you know? oh and besides, i have no one to be friends with. sigh. maybe i'm completely wrong--maybe friendster is totally great, so i'll say no more.

other news: i'm at my parents' house. it's rainy and dismal, so i'm staying in to watch movies. i rented little darlings, which is awesome and brought a smile to my face this afternoon! it's an obscure, old movie from the early 80's which i saw (and loved) when i was maybe 10 or 11. or maybe 12. (i was what people now refer to as a "tween"). seeing young matt dillon was quite amusing. other rentals in my possession: laurel canyon, and monsoon wedding.

well more as it happens...
