see and be seen...
i live in a university town. the end of the semester is coming. at this time of the year, if you go to any cafe, especially the starbucks inside of barnes & noble, you see plenty of undergrad students there to study.
but really, of course, i think they're there to see and be seen. yesterday i went by the above mentioned starbucks and saw a whole bunch of (university of my state) students who didn't seem to know which was the right side up on their calculus textbooks. heh!
i also see this in my parent's hometown since they live in a college town as well. and i saw it big time last year when i was out near stanford and uw. (it was summer--were all of those kids really taking summer session classes)?
....see and be seen. yeah. i know the game.
