lamb or lion; occupational hazards

lamb or lion; occupational hazards...

march came in like a lamb and is going out like a lion. yesterday it hit 80 degrees and i wore shorts. later there were storms and tornado watches around the state. this morning i woke up to snow plus a three hour power outage. such is the fickle strangeness of spring weather.

other news: i just talked to my sister. everyone at her hospital is on alert b/c of SARS, the mystery flu. apparently there were two cases of the illness reported in king co. one was a 2 year old boy who was reportedly treated at children's hosp. in the ER... by ENT's. yikes! it makes all the fear in the headlines a bit more real. apparently the hospital e-mailed a memo to everyone who works there to be on alert and take precautions (like masks). i suppose it's simply an occupational hazard. you have to expect stuff like that, just as they always have to be prepared for ADHD kids who thrash about, flail their limbs, squirm and wriggle out of restraints and refuse to be put under. that is, until the surgical team has to sit on them and shoot them with tranquilizer darts for them to go limp.

what a horror! LOL!!!

well, more as it happens...
