baseball cap pseudo-statistics...

this is the 1st time i'm updating since the new server went up overnight, so i'll make it a fun one --here's some pseudo-statistics as food for thought:

back in grad. school i taught an undergrad. university level course offered in 3 different sections. i absolutely loved it and my students were the best bunch of kids. i probably learned as much from them as they learned from me. nonetheless, i came to these pseudo-mathematical conclusions:

1) there is an inverse relationship betweeen the number of baseball caps worn by male students in the classroom, and students' cumulative grade point average (GPA).

2) that inverse relationship is strengthened when the baseball cap is worn backwards by those same male students.

you don't believe me? i'm totally serious! my co-instructor and i both tallied up the number of baseball caps one day in our classes and calculated the class' average gpa (since we had their official cum. gpa on file). sure, it was only one given day and so not a scientifically rigorous study. but our findings were interesting, nonetheless:

1) in the class w/ the fewest baseball caps, the cumulative gpa was 3.34

2) in the class with more baseball caps, the cumulative gpa was 3.23

3) in third class, where more students wore their caps backwards, the cumulative gpa was 3.01

interesting, huh?

and sorry to offend anyone who wears a cap to class, esp. backwards.

i don't know what the stats would be like for girls and baseball caps, but i suspect things for us females are a bit different. after all, i used to wear a baseball cap to class esp. on bad hair days and my grades remained high.
