i found kurt cobain's journals!
i went to costco this weekend and saw kurt cobain's journal! i totally couldn't resist picking it up and reading/leafing/skimming through it. all i can say is: omg! it's powerful. he was so brilliant but so vulnerable, damaged. ravaged by heroin. maybe a review i read tonight correctly sums it up: it's a harrowing warning to young artists to protect their talent at whatever cost. imagine what it would have been like if he'd been on diaryland!
when my sister was here last week i finally asked her if she knew which neighborhood kurt cobain's home was in. a close friend from college wanted me to find out this summer but i returned not knowing the answer. (she's really interested for reasons i may or may not go into some other day). in truth: i never made an effort to find out. my sis said she ran by it during her race but didn't know she had run by it until a guy she knows and ran the with told her it had been along the route. [mental note: tell my friend it's on lake washington]. i still remember the t.v. images of that house the day he committed suicide.
it's kind of funny, i recall my junior year someone who lived down the hall from me had a huge crush on courtney love and talked incessantly about it. lol!
anyway, readers: i shall leave you tonight imagining that like me, you too stumbled upon kurt cobain's journals.
