the summons and my home town
the summons: i started thinking about jury duty after reading one of joanne's "friday five" entries, and then linking to itzie (see comments in my profile) several days ago. and i realized that it would actually be sort of cool to be summoned for jury duty. maybe i'm strange for thinking it would be sort of a neat experience. or maybe not. i think timing is everything, though. back when i took a social psych. course, we had to watch the movie "12 angry men"....a great movie. very powerful. it was interesting to watch the dynamics of the group as they reached a verdict. anyway, i suppose that for now, i'll just reach for the newest john grisham book. his writing is brilliant!

today's trivia:
for privacy reasons, i chose not to list my hometown or state in my diary profile. but now that i've locked up, i will reveal a few facts: i currently live in a medium-size university town. actor rob lowe was born there. author rita mae brown lives just outside of town. writer john grisham also has a home in this town, as does actress sissy spacek. (in fact, i saw sissy spacek at the grocery store last spring!). there is also a well known band which i won't name right now, which got its start in the town i currently live in. there are a few other famous names associated w/ where i live, but i won't list them.

finally:
i think i've mustered up the courage to do it: i'm going to let all the people here who listed me as a buddy and/or have access to my diary start seeing some pictures of me....you can all see what i look like (sort of). i promise you'll all be in for a treat. especially everyone who happened to see my 2/21/03 entry. ;)
so i'm going to give this a try now and hope it works.......
