i've got my love to keep me warm
right after exams ended, my arthritis flared up in my wrist & hip joints, but while that's no fun, it's hard to be glum because i'm surrounded by warmth and pretty things at right now. i'm de-compressing and relaxing at my parents' house for the holidays, and am looking forward to being spoiled by a month-long break. one of the best perks of being a student again is that life revolves around an academic calendar, i.e. long vacations!
this morning, i held my breath and finally logged onto the university system to check my grades online. and then i breathed a huge sigh of relief & smiled w/ joy upon discovering that, somehow, i actually managed to earn all A's this term. i'm still not quite sure how i pulled a 4.0. i had truly been worried an panicked about pulling together my monstrous 50-page research proposal paper. in statistics class, i felt insecure about whether my fried, overloaded brain could absorb the complexities of linear regressions this late in the semester. besides, you know, it's MATH, and i majored in english (albeit many moons ago). and, and, and.... but its all OK.
what else? oh yeah, someone's after my heart. a guy friend of mine, which is totally sweet, but...uh, i didn't quite expect it to happen, and so quickly! i am very fond of him as a friend. what i WILL say is that the attention is fun and flattering. and if you MUST know more: he's a master's student in architecture/urban planning. originally from southern California. very sweet guy.
...off to finish x-mas shopping this weekend in DC. most of it is done thanks to good old amazon, plus one other online order. x-mas cards/letters are all done & mailed. one sweater remains to be knitted, but the person knows i'm aiming to work on it over x-mas and finish it in january (hopefully)! i got a late start b/c i was too busy w/ school.
